The Disciples of Jesus


JAMES OF ZEBEDEE:

Also known as
-Son of Zebedee.
-Boangerges, meaning "son of thunder".
-James the elder.
-James the great.
-His original occupation was a fisherman: Matthew 4:18-22.
-He was the son of Zebedee: Matthew 4:21.
-His mother was Salome: Matthew 27:56.
-He was the brother of John: Matthew 4:21.
-He was a partner with Peter: Luke 5:10.
-He and his brother were called "sons of thunder" by Jesus because of their temperaments: Luke 9:54.
-He witnessed the transfiguration: Mark 9:1-8.
-He was one of the leaders in the first church: Galatians 2:9.
-He ministered in Judea.
-Historical records indicate that he was martyred by beheading.
